Naomi Anson has worked as a graphic artist in different capacities for over 20 years, from illustrating training manuals and designing websites to designing advertisements for Ogden Standard-Examiner and KSL.com. She has also been a painter all her life, and recently decided to return to school to obtain a BFA in order to pursue a career as a fine arts painter. She explores varied materials and styles of painting and drawing in her work. Most recently, her work has taken on a personal, deeper meaning through abstract paintings on canvas.

As an artist, she is constantly trying to make sense of her own inner monologue as it relates to the outside world. “We constantly build structures and try to improve on natural beauty all around us, while at the same time building emotional constructs as we attempt to compartmentalize our personal experiences and feelings. We cover our chaos with subjective, artificial structures. All of this is an effort to understand the complexity of humanity and where we fit in the grand scheme. I believe our inner monologues are mirrors to the collective monologue we share.”
