Vincent Vigil

Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Vincent Vigil is a Native American photographer. He credits his photography for his "outrageous spirit," citing it as a passion that motivated him to explore and escape from an "insular bubble of safety and familiarity." He is also thankful to the craft for having inspired him to approach and befriend people, by first honoring them as his subjects. Not only has photographing drag queens help him come out as one himself, but the skills he acquired while doing so emboldened him on a path that would secure him four scholarships and placement of his work in SandScript, a Tucson-based literature and art journal. Vincent is currently attending the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
